10 Hours of Drawing Tutorials

> LEARNING_TO_SEE...

I have always said "I can't draw". But talent is a lie. Talent is just practice.

I challenged myself to watch 10 hours of high-quality art education (Proko, Sinix Design) and practice along.

Hour 0: The Baseline

BEFORE (Self Portrait)
(Imagine a potato with eyes and straw hair)

It was bad. I drew symbols, not shapes. An eye was an oval with a dot.

Hour 3: Perspective & Boxes

The tutorials didn't start with faces. They started with boxes. "Draw a box in 3D space."

I realized that everything is a box. A head is a box. An arm is a cylinder. This was the unlock.

Hour 7: Anatomy and The Loomis Head

I learned the "Loomis Method". You draw a ball. You slice off the sides. You divide it into thirds.

Suddenly, my faces had structure. They looked like 3D objects, not stickers on a flat page.

Hour 10: The After

AFTER (Self Portrait)
(A recognizable human face with shadowing and proportion)

The Verdict

My "After" drawing isn't a masterpiece. But it looks human. And I learned the most important lesson of art:

Drawing is not about your hand. It is about your eyes.

You have to learn to assume nothing. Don't draw "an eye". Draw the shadow shapes around the eye. Once you see the world as shapes of light and dark, you can draw anything.
